GAME LOG: Texas A&M Drops Game 1 Of Shriners Children’s College Classic To Louisville

Follow along with AllAggies.com as Texas A&M takes on Louisville as part of the Shriners Children’s College Classic.

HOUSTON -- It's time to see if Texas A&M baseball can live up to the standard away from Blue Bell Park. And the first matchup is against a familiar foe.

The No. 15 Aggies (5-3) will start off their three-game series at Minute Maid Park as part of the Shriners Children’s College Classic against No. 14 Louisville. Last season, swept the Cardinals (7-1) in a best-of-three-game series at the College Station Super Regional to advance to the College World Series.

A&M finally watched its offense come to life in a 23-0 win over Houston Christian Tuesday night at home. The Aggies totaled six runs in the first and never slowed down, scoring two in the second, three in the third, nine in the fourth and three in the sixth.

Third baseman Trevor Werner tied a school single-game record with five runs scored, walking three times and smashing his second home run of the season to lead off the second inning. Austin Bost hit his first grand slam of the season in the bottom of the fourth and totaled a career-best six RBIs.

Nathan Dettmer is set to take the mound for the Aggies, while Louisville will send out right-hander senior Ryan Hawks. Follow along with us for all nine frames live from Minute Maid Park in downtown Houston.
