Texas A&M Baseball SEC Championship vs. Vanderbilt: How to Watch, Preview
The Texas A&M Aggies will stay in Hoover, Alabama for one more game Sunday afternoon, facing a top-eight national seed Vanderbilt squad in the SEC Tournament final.
To this point, the Aggies have gone 4-1, only losing to Arkansas in their second game after a walk-off home run sent them to the loser's bracket of the tournament. Texas A&M fought back to the top by knocking off the Razorbacks in the two teams' second matchup against each other, fueled by a strong sixth inning showing.
While the Aggies held their own on the pitching mound, they also took advantage of Arkansas inability to do the same, knocking them off one game shy of a title game appearance, where Vanderbilt sits waiting following its win over Florida.
The Commodores, led by graduate outfielder R.J. Schreck, put themselves in the conversation for contention once again this year just two years removed from a CWS Final appearance, and will be looking to do the same.
A win for the Aggies would give them a huge boost of momentum heading into their regional, and will solidify their spot as a 2-seed in a regional in the NCAA tournament as they look to advance to the CWS for the second straight season.
Pitching will be crucial for a victory once again, as Texas A&M will need to have a strong start on the mound — something that has been true for the team all tournament long.
First pitch from Hoover is set for 2 p.m.
