Aggies Austin Bost Reflects on Senior Season
The Texas A&M Aggies baseball team lost to the Stanford Cardinal 7-1 on Monday, ending their season. Stanford advances to the Super Regional against the Longhorns, and the Aggies went home to College Station to reflect on their season.
The loss also ended one notable Aggies' collegiate career. Infielder Austin Bost returned to play for A&M for his senior season and reflected on that decision after the loss on Monday.
“Yeah. I mean, I never think about that. I made the decision,” Bost explained in the post-game press conference when asked if he feels he made the right choice. “I still feel like it was the right decision, and to answer your question too, this season has meant the world to me. I wouldn’t trade it for anything else. I can’t thank the coaches enough. … They did everything for me.
“I want to thank my teammates. I mean, battling for me every single day. It’s amazing. I wouldn’t change it.”
In 142 games over four years in Aggieland, Bost made 133 career starts, batting .329, and scoring 89 runs. He hit 32 triples, four doubles, and 26 home runs, and knocked in 118 RBIs while registering a .544 slugging percentage and a .402 on-base percentage.
