Texas A&M Men’s Basketball Team Soars to No. 18 in AP Top 25 Rankings

The Texas A&M men’s basketball team jumped six spots in the final regular-season Associated Press top 25 rankings released on Monday, March 6, with the Aggies currently sitting at No. 18.

Texas A&M (23-8, 15-3 SEC) went 2-0 this past week, winning by seven at Ole Miss on Feb. 28 before garnering it's biggest signature-win of the season in a 67-61 homecourt victory over then-No. 2 Alabama on March 4 to wrap-up the regular season.

The Aggies, who sit alone in second place in the Southeastern Conference, now await their opening-round opponent in the conference tournament -- with the Aggies currently slated to face the winner of the Arkansas vs. Auburn matchup in the quarterfinals on Friday, March 10 at 6 p.m. Central Time on the SEC Network.

With Selection Sunday less than a week away, the SEC currently has five teams in the top 25: No. 4 Alabama, No. 17 Tennessee, No. 18 Texas A&M, No. 23 Kentucky and No. 25 Missouri, with Vanderbilt (No. 41) and Arkansas (No. 44) also receiving votes.
