Aggies Fall to Commodores 74-73 In Heartbreaking Fashion
Commodores guard Ezra Manjon hit a contested jumper as time expired to lift Vanderbilt to a 74-73 win over the Texas A&M Aggies on Tuesday night at Memorial Gymnasium.
It was a closely contested contest where neither team led by more than four points for the entire game.
The Commodores led the game by just one point with under 14 ticks left when Isaiah West was called for fouling Tyrece Radford. The Aggies guard went to the line and made both free throws for a one-point A&M lead.
Majon took the inbounds pass and dribbled to the key where he attempted a shot that was blocked right back into his hands. That allowed him to reset and take the winning shot as time expired for the Vandy win. It's just their second SEC win of the season.
The Aggies were the worst team in the SEC from beyond the arc but shot well on Tuesday going 8-of-18 on the night.
Wade Taylor IV led the Aggies with 18 points and pulled in three rebounds, while Radford scored 17 with four assists.
Henry Coleman III chipped in 13 off the bench to go along with four rebounds and Jace Carter had 11 including 3-of-6 from 3-point range. Andersson Garcia led A&M with six rebounds.
Five Aggies Invited to NFL Scouting Combine
Ven-Allen Lubin led all Commodores with 25 while Manjon finished with 19 including the game-winner. Evan Taylor scored 12 for Vanderbilt off the bench.
Next up for the Aggies are the Alabama Crimson Tide on Saturday at 11 a.m. CT from Coleman Coliseum in Tuscaloosa.
