Texas A&M and Ohio State to Host Home-and-Home Basketball Series
The Texas A&M Aggies men's basketball team has been searching for ways to improve their resume going forward. And on Monday, they took a good step in that direction, scheduling a home-and-home series with the Ohio State Buckeyes in 2024 and 2025.
The Buckeyes and Texas A&M Aggies are reportedly going to host the first of a home-and-home series on Nov. 10 in Columbus, according to CBS Sports' Jon Rothstein. Ohio State will travel to College Station, TX. for the return game in 2024-25.
This is the third potentially tough non-conference opponent the Aggies have scheduled this month, with future games against Houston and Memphis already on the docket.
Head coach Buzz Williams is coming off his best season in College Station in his four-year tenure, leading the Aggies to a 15-3 record in SEC play last season and their first NCAA Tournament berth since 2017-18.
However, the non-conference schedule was rather bare for Texas A&M, with just three Power 6 matchups outside of the SEC last season. Those matchups were far from high profile either, with the Aggies facing off against Colorado, Oregon State and DePaul.
Colorado was the one team of those three to end the year above .500, finishing 18-17.
Meanwhile, the Buckeyes struggled themselves last season, finishing the year 16-19 and second to last in the Big Ten Conference. However, the Buckeyes are expected to get back on track in the 2023-24 season.
The Aggies are 2-1 all-time against the Buckeyes.
