Lamar vs. Texas A&M: live blog
COLLEGE STATION - Following a rough loss to the defending nation champions in Clemson, Texas A&M is hoping for better results against Lamar. With the return to Kyle Field, the Aggies will look to pick up another victory before the start of SEC play.

9:18 P.M. - James Foster entered the game at quarterback and it was the same story. Following several passes, Cordarrian Richardson would take his second rush of the game for a 13-yard score.
Texas A&M 62, Lamar 3 (Scoring Drive: 9 plays, 59 yards, 3:23)
9:10 P.M. - It's another three and out. This game needs to end.
9:04 P.M. - One play is all it took for Calzada and A&M's offense. Following a 41-yard return from Paul, the freshman quarterback would connect with Ainias Smith for a 13-yard touchdown. That should do it at Kyle Field.
Texas A&M 55, Lamar 3 (Scoring Drive: 1 play, 13 yards, 0:09)
9:02 P.M- It's time to play who wants a four and out? Step right up Lamar. You broke you streak of three and outs.
9:00 P.M. - What started as a promising drive, ended on a sour note. After nine plays, including an 18-yard completion to Jalen Preston, the Aggies would punt for the first time of the evening.
8:47 P.M. - The same story for Lamar with another three and out.
8:41 P.M. - Easy come, easy go. Calzada would fumble on a sack caused by Abel Daily. Lamar's Davion May would recover the ball, giving the ball back to the Cardinals.
8:39 P.M. - Following another incompletion, Wanza would fumble on a hit cause by Larry Pryor. The Aggies are at great field position with a chance to add to their lead.
END OF THIRD QUARTER: Texas A&M 48, Lamar 3
8:32 P.M. - On his first play under center, Calzada would connect with Jalen Wydermyer for a 25-yard touchdown.

8:31 P.M. - Another three and out for the Cardinals. Zach Calzada would enter the game at quarterback.
8:26 P.M. - In what could be Mond's final drive of the night, he went out on the right note. Finishing 7 of 8 for 78 yards, the junior would connect with Aubson for a 10-yard score. The Aggies likely will seal the deal thanks to the touchdown.
Texas A&M 41, Lamar 3 (Scoring Drive: 9 plays, 92 yards, 4:37)
8:17 P.M. - For the first time of the night, Lamar's offense showed life. Wanza started the drive off with a 44-yard run before Hoy would connect with Case Robinson. Following an overturned call on an interception, the Cardinals would settle for a 32-yard field goal by Giffen.
Texas A&M 34, Lamar 3 (Scoring Drive: 6 plays, 61 yards, 1:53)
8:07 P.M. - Mond started the drive off right with a 26-yard completion to Ausbon. Two plays later, Spiller would break away for a 34-yard touchdown. For the evening, the freshman has collected 114 yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries.
8:01 P.M. - The Cardinals' defense stepped up. The offense still struggled. Going three and out following the interception, the Aggies will get the ball back at their own 28.
7:55 P.M. - The first real mistake of the night for Mond came on the team's opening drive. After Spiller and Rogers collected 26 yards, Mond would be intercepted by Cameron Hayes. It would be the first turnover for either team of the night.
7:47 P.M. - It might be a new half, but the Cardinals offense suffered the same results. Hoy would miss Kirkland Banks twice before relying on special teams again. The Aggies will begin their drive from the 11.
Ok, we're back! The Cardinals will begin the second half with the ball.
Halftime: Texas A&M 27, Lamar 0
7:24 P.M.- A&M would try for one deep pass to Rogers, but an offensive holding call would push the team back. Spiller would rush for 7-yards before heading into halftime.
7:20 P.M. - Another drive, another three and out for Lamar. Hoy completed a 6-yard pass on third down, but it was too late. A&M would begin their final drive of the half on the 36.
7:15 P.M. - Mond would connect with Spiller for 16 and Kendrick Rogers for 21, placing A&M just outside of Lamar's red zone. After connecting with Cameron Buckley, Mond would keep it on the option, scoring an 11-yard touchdown to give A&M a commanding lead.
Texas A&M 27, Lamar 0 (Scoring Drive: 5 plays, 68 yards, 2:02)
7:09 P.M. - The Aggies defense stepped up once more, forcing Hoy to go 0 of 2 passing and allowing one yard. A block in the back penalty would negate Roshauud Paul's 11-yard gain, forcing A&M to begin their next drive at their own 40.
7:04 P.M. - Freshman running back Isaiah Spiller would break free for a 38-yard run into Lamar territory to begin the drive. The Klein Collins product would led the charge into the red zone, culminating in a one-yard touchdown run. The Aggies have scored on each of their offensive drives.
Texas A&M 20, Lamar 0 (Scoring Drive: 9 plays, 75s, 5:36)
6:49 P.M. - For the first time, Lamar's offense consistently moved the ball downfield. Hoy would go 4 of 6 for 35 yards and a face mask penalty would add another 15 towards the red zone. Hoping to settle for a field goal, Bailey Giffen's 22-yard kick was blocked by Bobby Brown III. The Aggies defense would prevail.
End of first quarter: Texas A&M 13, Lamar 0
6:40 P.M. - Mond would connect with Jhamon Ausbon for a 36-yard gain to begin the series. Kibodi couldn't find running room, forcing A&M to settle for a 31-yard field goal by Small.
Texas A&M 13, Lamar 0 (Scoring Drive: 5 plays, 41 yards, 1:38)
6:34 P.M. - The Cardinals took a step in the wrong direction during their second drive. Following back to back runs, Hoy would hit Myles Wanza for a three-yard loss, forcing Lamar to punt.
6:30 P.M. - With better results on the second drive, Mond would push A&M all the way across the field into the Cardinals' red zone. Kibodi would rush three straight times, finally pushing across the goal line for the first touchdown of the evening.
Texas A&M 10, Lamar 0 (Scoring Drive: 7 plays, 68 yards, 3:43)
6:24 P.M. - Jordon Hoy would start under center, but the Cardinals would rely on their run game. After seven plays, the team would turn to Enrique Carmona to pin A&M deep in their own territory. The Aggies will begin the drive from their own 2-yard line.
6:19 P.M. - The Aggies would drive down field thanks to Kellen Mond under center. The junior would go 2 of 3 for 46 yards and rush for 11 more. With Jashaun Corbin out, veteran Jacob Kibodi would see starting reps. Once in the red zone, the Aggies would have to settle for a 21-yard field goal from Seth Small to give them the early.
Texas A&M 3, Lamar 0 - (Scoring Drive: 9 plays, 79 yards, 4:34)
6:00 P.M. - Lamar wins the toss, defers until the second half. Texas A&M will begin the night with the ball.
