LSU vs. Texas A&M Given Late Kickoff Time
COLLEGE STATION - When College Football fans think of Thanksgiving, two things pop into their minds; good food and rivalry week. The final games of the 2019 season will commence following Turkey day, with most games being heated matchups against in-state foes.
In the past, Texas A&M has taken on Texas in the "Lone Star Showdown" on Thanksgiving night. Since their arrival in the Southeastern Conference, attention has turned to a new-found rivalry between the Aggies and state-over rival LSU. Played on the final weekend of the season, the A&M hopes to upset the top-ranked Tigers in Baton Rouge to end the year on a high note.
While the Aggies will need to get past Georgia, the official time has been announced for the weekend in Tiger Stadium.
LSU and A&M will kickoff at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 30. The game will be nationally televised on ESPN.
Last season, the Aggies battled the Tigers in what some would call the top game of 2018. Seven overtimes would decide the outcome, leading to A&M pulling off a 74-73 victory over the then-ranked No.8 Tigers. Kellen Mond would throw for 287 yards and six touchdowns, including a game-winning 17-yard pass to Quartney Davis. The Aggies would seal the deal on a two-point conversion on a pass to Kendrick Rogers.
Since the rivalry officially began in 2012, LSU has dominated the Aggies, winning six of seven outings. Heisman front-runner Joe Burrow continues his success this year, throwing for 3,687 yards and 36 touchdowns through 10 games. He is also expected to be a top selection in the 2020 NFL Draft come April.
The Aggies will face No.4 ranked Georgia at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 23. The game will take place at Samford Stadium and be the nationally televised on CBS as the SEC Game of the Week.
LSU will take on Arkansas at Tiger Stadium at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 23. The game will be televised on ESPN.
