Former Aggie RB Devon Achane Invited to NFLPA's Rookie Premiere
If former Texas A&M Aggies running back Devon Achane was known for anything, it was his speed.
Achane was oftentimes the fastest player on the field, and provided a form of speed that the Aggies needed after the departure of Isaiah Spiller in 2021. And while his size made him a questionable NFL prospect, the junior became the Miami Dolphins' second pick of the 2023 NFL Draft.
Now, along with joining star receiver Tyreek Hill on a speed-backed roster in Miami, he'll also team up with some of the top incoming rookies for the NFL's annual Rookie Premiere.
Here's the full list:
Achane joined 44 other rookies— mostly first-round picks — who were invited to the event, which "offers partners unparalleled access to more than 40 of the NFL's newest stars at their first major business and marketing event following the NFL Draft," per the NFLPA.
"The Premiere is one of the most valuable opportunities available to NFLPA partners as it's the first point of contact to connect directly with professional football's most promising and marketable young players – at a single unique event – to build content and relationships for the season and beyond."
The former Aggie brought speed and talent to during his Texas A&M career, tallying 2,376 yards and 21 touchdowns on 369 carries.
He went down in the top 20 of Texas A&M running backs, while also being an All-American track star — bringing a multi-sport advantage that NFL franchises have been known to favor.
Despite not being a top draft pick, Achane is ready to bring his speed and talents to the Dolphins, and the Rookie Premiere will be the first chance for him to show that.
The NFLPA's annual event will be held this year in Los Angeles from May 18-21.
