Halftime: Texas A&M Aggies Leads Tennessee Volunteers Thanks To Max Johnson Rushing TD

The Aggies jumped out to an early 7-0 lead and never looked back entering the third quarter.

Max Johnson evaded a pair of sacks behind the line of scrimmage and bulldozed his way across the pylon at Neyland Stadium for the 2-yard score.

Texas A&M leads 10-7 over No. 19 Tennessee in Knoxville. The Aggies will receive the ball to begin the third quarter.

Johnson finished the first half 7-of-11 for 107 yards. While his rushing attack was sufficient, he was sacked twice for a loss of 15 yards.

Running back Le'Veon Moss averaged 5.4 yards per run. Both Noah Thomas and Evan Stewart caught two passes for over 30 yards. Kicker Randy Bond drilled a 41-yard field goal with 10:28 remaining in the second quarter.

Although A&M (4-2, 2-1 SEC) has eliminated deep shots from senior Joe Milton, the duo of Jaylen Wright and Jabari Small has plagued the front seven. The Tennessee tailbacks are averaging 5.3 yards per carry. Wright broke free for a 23-yard run to set up a 7-yard touchdown pass to Jacob Warren.

Milton, who torched South Carolina in a Week 5 win at home, finished the first half 6-of-11 for 38 passing yards. A&M's defense did record one sack, but four tackles for loss.

The Volunteers have been one of the better teams in college football when playing at home. Tennessee (4-1, 1-1 SEC) has won 12 consecutive games at Neyland Stadium, marking the fourth-longest home winning streak in the sport.

The Aggies, a week removed from a 26-20 loss against No. 11 Alabama, will return to College Station for their bye week before taking on South Carolina on Oct. 28.
