Watch: Texas A&M Aggies Scoop-And-Score Against Mississippi State

Jared Kerr and Shemar Stewart combined for Texas A&M's second defensive touchdown of the season.

COLLEGE STATION -- It won't be the hit heard around college football, but it will be the one heard around College Station. 

Texas A&M defensive back Jared Kerr delivered a booming hit against Mississippi State quarterback Mike Wright that jarred the ball loose during the third quarter. Defensive lineman Shemar Stewart recovered the fumble and returned it 41 yards for the score. 

The Aggies lead 41-10 with just under 11 minutes remaining the first half. The touchdown marks the second defensive score of the season for A&M. 

Linebacker Chris Russell Jr. scored on a 16-yard interception against Arkansas in the Southwest Classic back in September. 

The Aggies (5-4, 3-3 SEC) have pummeled the Bulldogs (4-5, 1-5)throughout the night at Kyle Field. Wright, a former Vanderbilt starter, has been sacked twice. Chris Parson, a freshman who started the game in place of the injured Will Rogers, was picked off twice by A&M's secondary. 

A&M's offense turned to Fresno State transfer Jaylen Henderson in place of the injured Max Johnson. Henderson scored on a 22-yard run in the first quarter to tie the game at 7-7. 

He later found senior receiver Ainais Smith for a 19-yard touchdown with 4:58 remaining in the half, marking the career passing touchdown of his career. Henderson scored on an 11-yard run with a 1:20 remaining in the half to extend A&M's lead by 24. 

The Aggies will clinch bowl elgibility with a victory Saturday. A&M could finish the season 8-4 with wins over Abilene Christian and No. 19 LSU. 

A&M returns to Kyle Field next Saturday for its Senior Day against the Wildcats at 11 a.m.
