The Texas A&M Aggies have just added a major piece to help boost the future of their offensive line.

A&M landed a commitment from 2024 Beaumont United (TX) offensive tackle Weston Davis on Monday, per reports from On3. He chose the Aggies over some steep competition, as Davis was also considering the Alabama Crimson Tide, Oklahoma State Cowboys, TCU Horned Frogs, LSU Tigers and Oklahoma Sooners among others.

But Davis, who is a four-star offensive tackle on 247Sports' composite player rankings, will ultimately be headed to College Station. He revealed what his decision came down to.

“The environment and the coaching staff,” Davis told On3. “I like how it’s lot of doors that open when you graduate from there.”

He now joins an A&M 2024 class that has 11 commits, headlined by the likes of running back Jordan Pride, quarterback Anthony Maddox, defensive lineman Dealyn Evans and more.

Davis also said that the impact of offensive line coach Steve Addazio and secondary coach Bryant Gross-Armiento played a major role in his commitment.

“Coach BGA and coach Steve taking me and developing me and showing them how to be a man in life," he said.

Davis officially visited A&M on June 2. But despite the fact he made OVs to Oklahoma (June 9), Alabama (June 16) and LSU (June 23) after visiting College Station, the positive feeling he got from the Aggies never seemed to waver, as he chose them over other current and soon-to-be SEC foes.
