According to reports, the Texas A&M Aggies defensive back plans to enter the transfer portal after one season in College Station.

McCall, who will have two years of eligibility remaining, will have a 15-day window to find a new location beginning on April 15.

McCall, who joined the Aggies from Florida State last offseason, was limited in coverage. Across 11 games, including one start, the 6-foot defender recorded six tackles and a pass defended.

According to Pro Football Focus, McCall surrendered seven catches on nine targets for 152 yards and a touchdown in his lone start against Ole Miss in Oxford. Overall, Rebels quarterback Jaxson Dart threw for a then-season-high 387 yards and two touchdowns in the 38-35 win to secure an 11-win season.

Among the veterans returning to play under new coach Mike Elko, McCall seemed to be the odd man. Already on limited reps, the former Seminole was brought in by the previous regime for a defensive formation designed by now-Auburn DC D.J. Durkin.

The Aggies also added Will Lee III (Kansas State), Donovan Saunders (Cal Poly), BJ Mayes (UAB) and former five-start Dezz Ricks (Alabama) via the portal this offseason. A&M also returns two-year starter Tyreek Chappell and sophomores Jayvon Thomas and Bravion Rogers, who each started two games in 2023.

McCall is now the second defensive back expected to transfer following spring practice, joining safety Jacoby Mathews. Since the firing of Jimbo Fisher, the Aggies have lost 21 players to the portal from last season’s roster.

The Aggies will take the field for the annual Maroon and White Game on April 20 at Kyle Field.
