COLLEGE STATION - Texas A&M will have a bye week before facing No.1 Alabama at Kyle Field. While many projected it would be must-see television, fans now are a little closer to the event.

CBS announced Monday that the Aggies would be the SEC Game of the Week, airing at 2:30 P.M. This will be the second time Texas A&M will face a No.1 team this season. In early September, they traveled to Clemson to meet the then No.1 Tigers, losing 24-10.

While eyes should be on College Station, there will also be a potential top 10 matchup brewing in Baton Rouge. LSU will face Florida in a potential SEC deciding game that evening in Tiger Stadium.

The Aggies have had mixed results when playing the Crimson Tide at No.1. In the team's first season in the SEC, Texas A&M would defeat Alabama 29-24 inside of Bryant Denny Stadium. Last season, the then-No.22 Aggies would lose to then-No.1 Alabama in Tuscaloosa, 45-23.

The Crimson Tide jumped up in the rankings following their 56-31 victory over Ole Miss. Once again, the offense under the direction of quarterback Tua Tagavailoa demolished opposing defense, setting a new school record. Wide receiver DeVonta Smith also set a school record with his four-touchdown performance.

Both Alabama and Texas A&M will not play this upcoming weekend due to their first of two bye weeks.
