The Texas A&M Aggies offense led by quarterback Conner Weigman is rolling in the first 15:07.

Weigman dropped back on the fifth play of the Aggies' second drive and delivered a beautiful 35-yard strike to wide receiver Evan Stewart, hitting him in stride in the end zone to give Texas A&M a 14-0 lead over the New Mexico Lobos with 14:53 left in the second quarter. Weigman currently has two touchdowns in as many drives.

The Cypress, Texas, native was named the Aggies' starting quarterback earlier this week, beating out Max Johnson for the first-team gig, and he has taken full advantage so far Saturday.

Through two drives, Weigman has completed four of his five pass attempts for 75 yards and two scores. He has taken a liking to Stewart, connecting with him three times for 60 yards and the score.

The former five-star quarterback's lone other completion was to wide receiver Noah Thomas — the Aggies' MVP of Spring — on a 15-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter.

Weigman is commanding the field like he did in their season finale upset of LSU a season ago. He is showing great pocket presence and delivering his throws on time, picking apart a New Mexico defense that only allowed 202.8 pass yards per game to opposing quarterbacks, which ranked 28th in the Football Bowl Subdivision.

Weigman was able to get it done on the ground as well, scrambling for a 17-yard gain — the longest rush in the game to this point by either team.
