Texas A&M Aggies OL Derrick Graham Hits Transfer Portal ... Again
The Texas A&M Aggies got some bad news on Tuesday as offensive lineman Derrick Graham entered the NCAA Transfer Portal for the second time in his collegiate career.
Graham was only with the program for four months in a very crowded offensive linemen room. The Lake Minneola, Florida, product and graduate student has one year of eligibility left.
The Aggies suffered sub-par play along the offensive line last season and needed fresh bodies to add depth through the portal. Texas A&M added former Kansas OL Ar’maj Reed-Adams and former FAU OL Dorian Hinton, pushing out Graham.
That's not to say Graham is without talent, but there are only so many roster spots to go around in Aggieland - especially along the offensive line.
Graham should easily find a new home for his final collegiate season.
Still a highly talented player, I have no doubt Graham will find a new home sooner than later. However, on the Aggie front, the depth chart is still 15 players deep, including several up-and-coming youngsters who will only add to the competition going into the fall.
As a member of the class of 2020, Graham signed with Troy in Dec. 2019 and enrolled in Aug. 2020. By December of that season he had entered the transfer portal for the first time and committed to the Aggies in Jan. 2024. Without ever playing a down for A&M, Graham is now out the door.
