The Texas A&M Aggies football program has never been one to produce top NFL quarterbacks. It's typically been known for its defensive unit and the players to dominate at the next level from that side of the ball.

But there is one that stands out in the eyes of Aggies everywhere, both because of his play on the field and his polarizing personality during and post-football.

ESPN ranked college football's top 80 quarterbacks of the 2000s, and at No. 13 is Johnny Football himself.

13. Johnny Manziel, Texas A&M
Years: 2012-13
Stats: 7,820 passing yards, 69% completion rate, 63 TD, 22 INT, 2,169 rushing yards, 30 rushing TD

Texas A&M won 20 games in the Johnny Football era, beat Alabama (and nearly did so twice) and immediately put to rest any silly "Yeah, but can that Big 12 offense work in the SEC?" qualms as the Aggies joined the league. But that alone doesn't describe just how much one player could dominate the sport's consciousness over multiple seasons. You couldn't take your eyes off of him because you really, really needed to see what he might do next.

Manziel was a polarizing figure both on and off the field when he was in College Station, and not only did it continue when he was drafted by the Cleveland Browns, he kicked it up a notch.

He only lasted 14 games over two seasons in the NFL - all in Cleveland. He moved on to the Canadian Football League where he played for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Montreal Alouettes, before landing with the Memphis Express of the Alliance of American Football and the Zappers of the Fan Controlled Football League.

But Aggis and college football fans will always remember him for his time in Aggieland, where he reached legend status, and still has it to this day in College Station.
