Aggies 2024 OT Commit Weston Davis Elevated to 5-Star Status
Back in June, the Aggies added an important piece of their 2024 puzzle along the offensive line. At that time, coach Jimbo Fisher and A&M got a commitment from then-four-star offensive tackle Weston Davis from Beaumont United (TX). He chose the Aggies over some steep competition, as Davis was also considering the Alabama Crimson Tide, Oklahoma State Cowboys, TCU Horned Frogs, LSU Tigers and Oklahoma Sooners among others.
And now, that commitment looks even sweeter as Davis has been moved to the five-star category per On3, and currently holds the No. 18 spot in the state of Texas, and the No. 5 offensive tackle. Davis is now ranked No. 93 nationally.
Upon his commitment in June, Davis told On 3, "I like how it’s a lot of doors that open when you graduate from there.” Davis also said that the impact of offensive line coach Steve Addazio and secondary coach Bryant Gross-Armiento played a major role in his commitment. “Coach BGA and coach Steve taking me and developing me and showing them how to be a man in life," he said.
He now joins an A&M 2024 class that has 21 commits, headlined by the likes of wideout Cam Coleman, defensive linemen Dealyn Evans and Dominick McKinley, and more.
Davis officially visited A&M on June 2. But despite the fact he made official visits to Oklahoma (June 9), Alabama (June 16) and LSU (June 23) after visiting College Station, the positive feeling he got from the Aggies never seemed to waver, as he chose them over other current and soon-to-be SEC foes.
