Texas A&M Aggies Reveal 2024 Football Team Captains
The Texas A&M Aggies are set to take the field for their annual Maroon-White game on Saturday afternoon, where they will showcase a new-look roster.
And now, they be led onto the field by their newly elected captains.
Per an announcement from the program, Texas A&M linebacker Taurean York and offensive lineman Trey Zuhn III have been named the team's captains for the 2024 season.
"It means a lot because I know what it took to get here," York said. "It meant the world to me."
York, who was among the top defensive players for the Aggies all of last season, earned 2023 ESPN Freshman All-America honors, was named to the SEC All-Freshman team, and was a Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Year semifinalist.
The Temple, Texas native was also named Dave Campbell's Texas Football Freshman Defensive Player of the Year.
Zuhn, meanwhile, was equally impressive for the Aggies last season, making appearances in all 12 games, and consistently emerging as one of the top-rated pass blockers in the country. In total, he has played in 28 games over the last three seasons.
Zuhn also occupies arguably the most important part of the Aggies defensive line, anchoring the left tackle spot as the team's best pass protector. In fact, he led the charge for a line that allowed less than two sacks in eight games this season.
And he could not be more excited to be leading he Aggies in 2024.
"It was cool to see how much the team believes in us and what we can do for the team," Zuhn said.
