The Aggies will play in their first bowl game since the 2020 season as they take on the Cowboys at NRG Stadium in the Texas Bowl.

The 7-5 Aggies officially wrap up the Jimbo Fisher era in Elijah Robinson's last game as interim coach before taking over as Syracuse's new defensive coordinator for the 2024 season. New coach Mike Elko will take over the reins of the program immediately following the game.

A&M closed out the regular season with a 42-30 loss at No. 14 LSU after consecutive wins against Abilene Christian and Mississippi State. The win over the Bulldogs was the last for Fisher before he was let go.

The 9-4 Cowboys also finished the season with a loss, a 49-21 thrashing by the playoff-bound Texas Longhorns in the Big 12 title game after consecutive wins over Houston and BYU.

The Aggies hold an 18-10 edge in the all-time series that dates back to the original Southwest Conference. From 1914-1924 the two programs met annually before Oklahoma State left for the Missouri Valley Conference in 1925. They played again as conference rivals in the Big 12 from its inception in 1996 until the Aggies left for the Southeastern Conference in 2012.

Both teams will want momentum heading into the offseason, so a win would go a long way for both programs.
