Aggies Football Labeled as 'Winners' of 2024 Late Signing Period

In a world of winners and losers, the Aggies are considered winners for their recruiting efforts for the 2024 cycle.
In this story:

This is not your father's college football. There was a time when there was one signing day in February, and all headlines and news were steered toward that day.

But now, we have multiple days and the transfer portal dominates each cycle.

Sometimes with the new recruiting rules, the biggest commitment storylines come after the Dec. 22 early signing period. And with Nick Saban moving on from Alabama to shock the college football world, recruiting for the 2024 cycle was turned upside down.

Bleacher Report offered their biggest winners and losers of the college football late signing window, and the Aggies are mentioned as one of the bigger winners.

The media outlet mentioned LSU and Texas A&M splitting a pair of five-star recruits ... and continuing to load up.

"Several months back before Jimbo Fisher was ousted at Texas A&M, the Aggies held commitments from five-stars Dominick McKinley and Terry Bussey.

"After Texas A&M hired Mike Elko, the team faced having to re-recruit both guys and a ton of roster turnover. Had you told Aggies fans they'd still hang on to one of them, they would probably be OK with that.

"Elko was able to pull the biggest national signing day commitment of the cycle on Wednesday when explosive athlete Bussey decided to stick with his original commitment and head to College Station, despite huge pushes by LSU and Georgia."

'Value Across The Board': Texas A&M's Emphasis On Transfer Portal Changes Perception On National Signing Day

The Tigers were able to flip McKinley on New Year's Day, so LSU and Texas A&M split the two five-star recruits.

As Elko and is recruiting staff continue to build toward 2024, expect more top players to sign their names to play for A&M.
