Texas A&M WR Commit Debron Gatling Top Performer At Cam Newton 7 on 7 Tournament
The Texas A&M Aggies haven't had the best luck with 247Sports three-star wide receivers.
The last five three-star wide receivers have combined to play 126 games for 138 receptions, 1,821 yards and six touchdowns, but all of them have transferred out before the conclusion of their Aggies careers. Class of 2024 three-star Texas A&M wide receiver commit Debron Gatling could change that, though.
He participated in Cam Newton's annual Memorial Day 7-on-7 and Gatling was named the tournament's No. 4-best performer by On3's Jeremy Johnson. Gatling's game was compared to class of 2024 four-star wide receiver Bredell Richardson's, which Johnson called "one of the most consistent playmakers on the field" and a "security blanket."
"Gatling was consistently making plays when his number was called," Johnson wrote. "He and his high school quarterback Luke Nickel got off to a torrid start on Sunday connecting often in the early games."
The 6-0, 180-pound pass-catcher from Alpharetta, GA. has racked up 105 receptions for 1,637 yards and 20 touchdowns the past two seasons at Milton High School.
Gatling committed to Texas A&M Dec. 11, 2022, and has taken four unofficial visits to College Station with the most recent on Jan. 20.
