Aggies Named One of the Best Against Top 25 Opponents
Texas A&M football is one of the proudest and most tradition-based programs in all of college football. It prides itself on history and big wins in big moments. While that could be said of more than a few college football teams around the country, numbers don't lie.
The Aggies recently appeared on a list compiled by College Football Report that shows the programs with the most wins against AP Top 25 opponents over the last decade.
The top five should surprise no one, with Alabama ranking first with 53 wins. Ohio State is second with 36, then Georgia with 34, then Clemson and Oklahoma with 31.
The Aggies come in at No. 14 with 18 wins against top 25 teams over the last decade. That's fourth-best among SEC programs, with Auburn, LSU, and the Crimson Tide placing in front of them.
The only other SEC school that appeared on the list is Ole Miss at No. 21 with 16 wins. Coming off a miserable 5-7 (2-6 SEC) showing in 2022, it's surprising to find out the Aggies went 3-2 against top 25 teams. The most memorable of those wins was in the regular season finale against LSU, who were ranked No. 5 in the country at the time.
