Aggies Offensive Line 'Getting a Groove' Ahead of 2023
The Texas A&M Aggies have excelled this offseason in recruiting, especially on the offensive line. On the heels of big-time recruitment commits from Isendre Ahfua and Blake Ivy for the class of 2024, the offensive line seems poised to protect whoever is under center - Conner Weigman or anyone else - for the foreseeable future.
Last year, the line had issues. But what was once a weakness appears to be a strength, even for the upcoming 2023 season. Current offensive lineman Trey Zuhn III isn't worried heading into the new season.
“We have probably seven or eight guys at least that could play in any game this season so the competition is there and everyone is working their butt off to fight for those five spots,” said the sophomore out of Fort Collins. “We are moving people around, people are playing multiple positions, so everyone is kind of getting that groove together with multiple people. It is going to be great,” Zuhn concluded.
One of the players who will be alongside Zuhn this season is Dametrious Crownover. And coach Jimbo Fisher is excited about the potential there.
“I am telling you about [Dametrious] Crownover,” Fisher said multiple times during his weekly press conference. “Crownover is playing really good football, I am telling you. And that is a big human being.”
But Crownover and Zuhn aren't the only ones impressing, Fisher continued.
“Chase Bisontis is doing a great job,” Fisher said. “Dametrious Crownover is having a phenomenal camp. … Mark Nabou has really become a jack of all trades. He is playing center, guard and tackle. He is playing and playing well.”
