Where Are Texas A&M Aggies In Week 8 SEC Power Rankings?
The Texas A&M Aggies are muddled in yet another disappointing season in 2023. At 4-3, the maroon and white are fourth in the SEC West with little to no hope of anything close to a relevant bowl game, much less a College Football Playoff appearance.
It's an SEC that admittedly is down a bit this season, and with teams like LSU and Alabama struggling at times and suffering early losses. A&M is still in the middle of the pack in a season where it could've taken advantage of other teams' failures - if not for suffering its own yet again.
Roll Tide Wire ranked the SEC football programs heading into Week 8 of the college football season, and appropriately, has the Aggies (4-3, 2-2 SEC) at No. 7.
"Texas A&M is on a two-game skid after dropping the past two games to Alabama and Tennessee. The Aggies have struggled offensively to generate any source of points. It has been a rough-go for Jimbo Fisher’s squad this season who have played the past three games without starting quarterback Conner Weigman.
"Texas A&M will have a bye week before playing host to South Carolina in their Week 8 game. The Aggies have put themselves in a tough spot to compete for an SEC West title. However, there is still a sliver of hope for the Aggies, but there is minimal room for error."
Of course, at No. 1 is the reigning national champion Georgia Bulldogs (7-0, 4-0 SEC) as the only unbeaten team remaining in the conference, then Roll Tide Wire puts its Crimson Tide(6-1, 4-0 SEC) at No. 2.
LSU (5-2, 4-1 SEC) dropped two of its first five games and shows at No. 3, while one of the more surprising teams in the conference this year, Ole Miss (5-1, 2-1 SEC) is ranked No. 4. Tennessee (5-1, 2-1 SEC), who just knocked off the Aggies in Knoxville, is No. 5.
Just ahead of the Aggies at No. 6 is the last team A&M beat on the road back in 2021, the Missouri Tigers (6-1, 2-1 SEC).
Florida (5-2, 3-1), Kentucky (5-2, 2-2), Auburn (3-3, 0-3), South Carolina (2-4, 1-3), Arkansas (2-5, 0-4), Mississippi (3-3, 0-3), and Vanderbilt (2-6, 0-4) round out the rest of the league in order.
