Aggies Coach Jimbo Fisher Gives Vague Answer on Bobby Petrino Calling Plays

Jimbo Fisher hired Bobby Petrino to run the offense, and presumably call the plays. But on Monday, his commitment to that structure was wavering at best.
In this story:

Texas A&M Aggies coach Jimbo Fisher made what was seemingly a big change this offseason, firing offensive coordinator Darrell Dickey, and replacing him with former Arkansas head coach Bobby Petrino.

Fisher, of course, has been the one in charge of play calling for the Aggies since his hiring, and in recent years, has been criticized for the offense's lack of production.

And it was assumed that Petrino, being well known for his offensive acumen, would come into College Station and take full control of the offense - including those playcalling duties.

However, in his first meeting with the media of spring football on Monday, Fisher finally answered that question... sort of.

“We’ll go through that as we go," Fisher said. "I plan on him making calls. I plan on him calling plays. I don’t have a problem with that at all.”

Obviously, given the way Fisher answered the question, it is hard to see this as a clear answer as to whether it will in fact be Petrino taking play-calling responsibilities or not.

It should be noted, however, that of the two coaches, Petrino was the one far more involved with the quarterbacks to open spring ball.

But, it is still early, and whether or not that actually happens, however, remains to be seen.
