Aggies vs. Miami A Top 2023 College Football Matchup?

Texas A&M and Miami will have the eyes of the college football on them in early September next season
USA Today
In this story:

The Texas A&M Aggies had a disappointing 2022 season, going 5-7 and missing out on a bowl game after starting the year with high expectations.

However, in 2023, with stability at the quarterback position, and a new offensive system in place, things should, in theory, be different in College Station.

In Week 2, the Aggies will have their first litmus test, as they head to Coral Gables to take on the Miami Hurricanes.

And according to 247Sports, despite both teams struggling last season, the matchup is set to be one of the biggest in college football in 2023.

Texas A&M and Miami each started the 2022 season in the top 20 before combining for a 10-14 record at the end of the season, with each team failing to make a bowl game. Mario Cristobal and Jimbo Fisher have worked hard to put their teams in better positions this offseason. Both programs made coordinator changes and signed top-15 recruiting classes.

It will indeed be a critical matchup for the Aggies and head coach Jimbo Fisher, who will desperately need a statement win after being on the hot seat for the last few months.

Win convincingly, and Fisher will have the momentum he needs heading into SEC play.

Lose, and things could start to heat up once again for the Aggies' head coach.
