LOOK: Netflix's 'Untold' Series to Feature Texas A&M QB Johnny Manziel
How much is really known about the Texas A&M Aggies quarterback who took College Station by storm?
Johnny Manziel, Texas A&M's two-year star, quickly became the Aggies' best player, lighting it up on the scoreboard using his arm and his legs.
When he wasn't throwing on the run, he was the ballcarrier, and was equally dangerous at both, becoming the first player in NCAA history to eclipse 5,000 total yards and 1,000 rushing yards.
Despite his glamorous stats on the field, however, there was more to Manziel's story.
Off-field debacles mixed with risky decisions nearly caused his college career to derail, but while he kept things in check with the Aggies, the same couldn't be said about his time in the NFL, where he was drafted by Cleveland in the first round.
After just two seasons and less than a full year's worth of games played, the Aggie star was waived by the Browns and has yet to return to the league, instead making appearances elsewhere, including a stop in Canada with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
That just scratches the surface, however, and Netflix is set to uncover much more than that, recently announcing that Manziel is set to be featured on an episode of its "Untold" docuseries.
Manziel's installment of the popular series will begin on Aug. 8, detailing every aspect of his journey from football to college life.
"In 2012, the brightest star in all of sports was an undersized freshman quarterback Johnny Manziel from unheralded Texas A&M," Netflix announced. "[His] fervor on the field was rivaled only by his hard-partying ways off it."
Whether Manziel's journey was intriguing or disappointing to Aggie fans, there shouldn't be any question regarding if they will watch the episode, after all, Manziel is an Aggie legend, and will forever be.
"Untold Vol. 3" will begin releasing weekly on Aug. 1, with Manziel's story being the second piece of the latest series iteration. Viewers can watch with a Netflix Subscription.
