Texas A&M's Wade Taylor IV Earns Spot on SEC All-Tournament Team
Texas A&M Aggies' Wade Taylor IV clinched a spot on the SEC's All-Tournament Team, after his outstanding performance in leading the Aggies to the semifinals for the third year in a row.
Despite falling short in the SEC Tournament with a loss to Florida in the Semifinals on Saturday afternoon, Texas A&M secured its second consecutive NCAA Tournament berth with two victories.
Taylor showcased his scoring prowess throughout the SEC tournament, averaging an impressive 27.3 points per game across matchups against Ole Miss, Kentucky, and Florida. Notably, he delivered standout 30-point performances against Kentucky (32 points) and Florida (30 points).
Taylor's impact extended beyond scoring, as he set a tournament record with 14 three-pointers, second only to Auburn's Bryce Brown's 18 in 2019.
Additionally, Taylor displayed his accuracy at the free-throw line, converting 16 out of 17 attempts. His all-around contributions also included ranking among the tournament leaders with 11 assists.
This marks Taylor's second consecutive season earning All-Tournament honors, a feat not achieved by an Aggie since Winston Crite's streak from 1985 to 1987. His consistent excellence solidifies his status as a key player for the Aggies, showcasing his ability to rise to the occasion on the biggest stage.
