The 87th Masters Tournament has been filled with excitement as well as anticipation. Excitement for the play of those in and near the front such as Brooks Koepka and Jon Rahm, as well as amateur and Aggies fifth-year senior Sam Bennett, who isn't playing like one.

But there was anticipation for incoming weather, as players teed off on Friday 30 minutes earlier than scheduled in an attempt to get rounds in before inclement weather and high winds struck the Augusta National Golf Club.

And when the winds came, they came with a vengeance.

At least two tall pine trees fell near the 17th hole where multiple patrons were gathered to watch. Play had been suspended earlier in the day for approximately 21 minutes due to high winds and inclement weather, but as play resumed the live feed broadcasting the 15th and 16th holes showed a large pine tree fall right next to where spectators were gathered.

"I was sitting, looking, waiting for the next group to come up to the tee and it fell maybe 8-10 chairs to our left," patron Megan Hill of New York said, per the Augusta Chronicle. "I stood up and screamed and thought, 'Is it going to fall on me? It fell to the left of us and it was so scary. If the wind had been blowing a slightly different direction, we might have got hit."

Scott Van Pelt who was in on the ESPN broadcast reported relatively quickly that there were no injuries and that the debris would be quickly cleaned up so play could resume.

Koepka currently leads in the clubhouse at 12-under par, while Rahm trails by three at 9-under after the completion of his front-9. Amateur and Aggies golf team star Sam Bennett remains in third place from the clubhouse at 8-under, the second-lowest finishing score after 36 holes for an amateur since Ken Venturi in 1956.
