Baseball: Noah Franco Commits to TCU
Kirk Saarloos has been busy following his team's run to the national semifinal in 2023. Most recently, the TCU skipper landed Noah Franco, a two-way player ranked fifth overall in his class. Franco was the best uncommitted player in the class of 2024, and before he reclassified, he was the No. 1 player in 2025's class.
Franco is the next in line of what seems to be a recently popularized wave of two-way players, which likely has something to do with the Angels' superstar Shohei Ohtani. Franco plays mainly in the outfield but mixes in first base from time to time. When he is not defending, he is pitching, and he is pitching very well.
The lefty already throws a low-90s fastball, which is rare for players at his level. Offensively, it seems to be much of the same for Franco. By all accounts, he is both a power and contact hitter and excels in both areas.
The biggest question moving forward is whether or not he will even make it to TCU's campus. Franco is widely considered a top-50 prospect, so an MLB team will certainly call his phone; the question is when. Where and when he is drafted will be factors that play into his decision of college or pro ball, but the fact that TCU has him committed is a great sign.
