National Championship - No. 2 Florida vs. No. 5 LSU- Game Three

The momentum completely favors the Florida Gators after their impressive 24-4 stomping of the LSU Tigers; however, if anybody in the country can turn momentum on its head in an instant, its LSU ace Paul Skenes

Skenes is expected to pitch in some capacity this evening after throwing eight shutout innings against Wake Forest on Thursday. He struck out nine batters and threw 120 pitches in the decisive victory. Skenes is a projected top-two pick in this year's MLB Draft, and having him on the mound will be big for the Tigers.

On the other side of things, Jack Caglianone, the Shohei Ohtani of college baseball, should start for the Gators. Caglianone last pitched on Wednesday against TCU and went for 4.1 innings, allowing one run on three hits and throwing 85 pitches. Not only did he throw 35 fewer pitches than Skenes, but he also is coming off an extra day of rest.

Us baseball fans are lucky. We get a Game Three to decide this year's national champion and two of the most exciting pitchers in the country squaring off. Not to mention, two offenses that have the ability to score runs, and a lot of them. Skenes vs. Caglianone, what more can you ask for?

A win for LSU would give the program its seventh national championship, while a victory for Florida would be the second national championship in program history. In 2017, Florida beat LSU to win its first trophy.

This game will begin at 6 pm CT and will air on ESPN.
