The Road to Omaha officially begins on Friday. Sixty-four teams start their journey Friday in one of 16 Regionals nationwide. Eight teams will make it to Omaha. After this weekend, 16 will still be in contention. The regional round is a double-elimination tournament, and the winner advances to the Super Regional round.

Some KillerFrogs staff have predicted which team will come out of each Regional and advance to next week’s Super Regionals. Do you agree or disagree with our predictions? Let us know!

Participating in these predictions are staff writers:

Some interesting notes about our picks:

  • Four Regionals had unanimous picks for the top seed in that Regional (Winston-Salem, Baton Rouge, Nashville, and Tuscaloosa).
  • Two Regionals had nine picks for the same team, with one outlier picking a different team; in one of these, the majority picked the top seed (Gainseville), and in the other, the majority picked the No. 2 seed (Fayetteville).
  • Three Regionals had three different teams picked in each Regional (Charlottesville, Stillwater, and Terre Haute)
  • Seven Regionals had a mix of choices between two teams (Clemson, Stanford, Coral Gables, Conway, Lexington, Auburn, and Columbia
