After an excellent season, Brayden Taylor was named a third-team All-American by Baseball America at the designated hitter position. This came after he led the team and tied the single-season school record with 23 home runs.

Taylor, a first-team All-Big 12 athlete, was crucial in helping TCU get back to the College World Series. In 67 games, he had a .308 batting average with 15 doubles, 23 home runs, and a team-high 70 RBIs. In addition to tying the program’s single-season home run record, he also tied the school record with 77 runs scored. Taylor also had 54 walks on the year which tied for the fifth-most in a single season. He had to keep off the base path as he had a .631 slugging percentage and a .430 on-base percentage.

Before his trip to Omaha, Nebraska, he earned MVP honors at the Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship, also earning a spot on the NCAA Fayetteville All-Regional team. He was also named an ABCA first-team All-Central Region performer.

We always knew Brayden Taylor was something special from the get-go, but he keeps getting better. He has given TCU an absolute show in his time at TCU. Taylor holds TCU’s all-time career home run record with 48. His 186 runs scored are the fifth-most in TCU history, while his 173 RBIs are fourth, and his 158 career walks are tied for second all-time. He has a career batting average of .314 while playing in 184 games.

Taylor is the 46th All-American that TCU has produced. Since head coach Kirk Saarloos began coaching at TCU in 2013, the team has had 16 selections. Congratulations, Brayden, on all your accomplishments. You have a bright future in front of you.
