Garrett Wright was the final Horned Frog selected in the MLB Draft and is headed to the Chicago White Sox. Taken in the 20th Round (Pick 599), Wright is also the third Horned Frogs pitcher to be drafted.

Wright spent all three seasons of his collegiate career in Fort Worth. He got off to a tremendous start and was named to the 2021 Big 12 Academic All-Rookie Team.

His most successful season came as a sophomore in 2022 when he posted a 2.89 ERA in 20 appearances. As a result, he made the 1st Team Academic All-Big 12, Honorable Mention All-Big 12, and 2nd-Team All-Big 12.

In his third season with TCU, Wright continued his success and ranked second on the team with 21 appearances, racking five saves. Despite being a reliever, Wright finished with a record of 3-2 and a 3.41 ERA. Tallying 36 strikeouts in 29 innings pitched, he became a valuable closer for the Frogs.
