TCU Baseball: Offense Explodes in Bounce Back Win Over UNC Wilmington
It was an offensive slugfest for the TCU Horned Frogs Saturday night en route to a 17-5 victory. After a frustrating loss Friday night, the Frogs had a great bounce back Saturday. TCU has now won five of its last six Saturday games.
The offense got going early when Brayden Taylor singled home Tre Richardson to make it 1-0 Frogs. Taylor went 2-3, including a two-run homerun in the third inning. Richardson had a fantastic day at the plate, going 3-5 with an RBI. The entire starting lineup each recorded a hit in Saturday's game.
The sixth inning was highlighted by a home run to right field from Kurtis Byrne. He has settled in nicely in the DH spot and is currently on a six-game hitting streak. The nine-run sixth inning was the most in an inning since 2019 by the Frogs.
Freshman Kole Klecker continues to impress, going six innings, giving up just one hit, two earned runs, and two strikeouts. His ability to pitch to weak contact and staying aggressive in the strike zone has been phenomenal. He picked up his seventh win today.
The Frogs improve to 22-13 and will send Cam Brown to the hill for the rubber match Sunday at 1 p.m.
