The TCU Horned Frogs are off to their 9-0 start for the first time since 1994 and are yet to play an away game until this weekend at least. It can also be argued that this is not much of an away game for the Horned Frogs as well, since they will head up to Globe Life Field which is only about 27 miles away from Lupton.

TCU will take on USC on Friday afternoon and Arizona State on Saturday. They wrap things up with a second matchup against USC on Sunday.

The Horned Frogs have been on a "tour of the PAC-12" so far, having gone 5-0 this week after wins over UCLA, Washington State, and Arizona. After this weekend's matchups, the brutal stretch of eight games in ten days will be done as the Frogs look ahead to the beginning of conference play.

The Horned Frogs will sport their usual weekend rotation of Payton Tolle, Kole Klecker, and Zach Morris. The lineup should largely stay the same, with only right field being in the question of whether it will be the freshman standout Sam Myers getting the start or whether Tuesday's walk-off hero, Luke Boyers, will get the nod.

USC

The weekend's first (and last) opponent for the Horned Frogs is a struggling USC team with a 2-8 record on the season. The Trojans are batting .207 on the season with only a .613 ops to start. JT Waldon is the one to watch for, as he could do damage against the Frogs. Waldon carries a .417 average on the season with an ops over 1.000. On the pitching side of things, USC has a respectable 4.76 ERA for the season but has a 1.47 WHIP to go with it.

Arizona State

On Saturday, TCU will take on the Sun Devils, an excellent team in their conference. With a 5-3 record to start the season, Arizona State has proved they can hit the ball with no problem, and their .354 average as a team supports that. The problem for them has been their pitching and fielding, as they bring a team ERA of 8.37 into the weekend and a .964 fielding percentage.

Also in this tournament is Texas A&M; however, TCU will not play them in this weekend's series.
