After losing five starters from a loaded Horned Frogs lineup in the 2023 MLB Draft, many people would presume TCU's offense would see a setback or two. Let me know if this sounds familiar. A true freshman cements himself in the Horned Frogs lineup by having a stellar weekend at the plate, showing off game knowledge and over-the-fence power at the same time. Believe it or not, folks, we've seen this movie before with Karson Bowen and Anthony Silva in 2023.

Chase Brunson was awarded the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week award, and for good reason. The true freshman went 6-for-10 at the plate this weekend, including two doubles and two home runs. Brunson immediately made his presence known by doubling in his first collegiate at-bat, only to homer in his fourth at-bat a few innings later.

TCU shortstop Anthony Silva was selected as a Big 12 Co-Player of the Week after going 7-for-13 at the plate in three games, one of which he went 4-for-5 at the plate with a home run. While this isn't out of the ordinary for Silva, it is only the second time he has been selected as a Big 12 Player of the Week.

TCU's upcoming schedule consists of a midweek game on Tuesday against Texas State and a series against No. 20 UCLA this coming weekend.
