TCU Baseball: Tre Richardson Selected By The St. Louis Cardinals
After being selected in the 15th Round (Pick 455), Tre Richardson is set to begin his journey with the St. Louis Cardinals.
Richardson was perhaps the most consistent Horned Frog all season. From the batter's box to the diamond, Richardson enjoyed a fruitful season in Fort Worth. He was one of two players to start all 68 games this season. In that time, he slashed .311/.392/.452 and finished the season leading the team with 84 hits. Not to mention, he had a near-perfect fielding percentage of .983 and flipped 34 double plays in 2023.
What more could you possibly ask for from a transfer from Baylor, right?
Richardson was also named the 2023 NCAA Fayetteville Regional MVP when he batted .600 (9-for-15) with four home runs and 14 RBIs.
His most electrifying performance came on June 4 when he went 5-for-6 and launched three home runs–two of which were grand slams. Totaling 11 RBIs, Richardson broke Porter Brown's TCU single-game record for RBIs.
This was all thanks to Richardson's hearty breakfast from IHOP.
As Richardson and IHOP have agreed on a new NIL deal, the restaurant is celebrating "TreDay." It is a one-day promotion on Wednesday, July 12, where IHOP will be serving the "Tre Winning Trio," which consists of three strawberry cheesecake pancake tacos and six pieces of bacon.
The "Tre Winning Trio" will only be available at IHOP's Fort Worth location off SW Loop 820.
All fun aside, Richardson had a fabulous season with the Frogs, providing a monumental piece to a historic team that will live on for years to come.
