TCU Baseball has been voted the #1 team in the Big 12 by coaches around the conference. Out of the other 13 teams in the Big 12, 11 of them projected TCU to be #1 with 143 points in total. This doesn't necessarily come as a surprise to many, considering how many starters TCU retained even after last year's MLB Draft. The Horned Frogs also made noise in the transfer portal to add to their young group of core players.

Big 12 Baseball Preseason Poll

  • 1. TCU (11) - 143
  • 2. Texas (2) - 131
  • 3. Oklahoma State - 119
  • 4. Texas Tech - 107
  • 5. Kansas State - 98
  • T6. Oklahoma - 85
  • T6. West Virginia - 85
  • 8. Kansas - 67
  • 9. Houston - 56
  • 10. UCF - 45
  • 11. Baylor - 36
  • T12. BYU - 21
  • T12. Cincinnati - 21

While Texas, Oklahoma State, and Texas Tech are competitors for a conference title year in and year out, Kansas State and West Virginia are two teams that can find a groove at any point in the season. Last year, West Virginia finished the season 40-20 but looked to be a contender for the CWS if not for the slump they suffered in the Big 12 Tournament and NCAA Tournament.

Though receiving preseason votes is exciting, below are some potential game wreckers in the Big 12 that teams must be aware of.
