TCU Bounces Back to Even the Series Against Oklahoma State
Starting pitcher Kole Klecker tossed seven innings, matching his career high. Klecker allowed three runs on four hits in those seven innings while striking out five. Ben Abeldt worked the final two innings, striking out four en route to ending the ballgame.
Freshman shortstop Anthony Silva once again found his power stroke Friday, hitting two home runs.
After Oklahoma State took the lead in the top of the third inning, Silva hit an opposite-field home run in the bottom of the fourth inning to tie the game.
In the top of the fifth inning, Oklahoma State second baseman Roc Riggio whacked a home run to right field to give Oklahoma State a 2-1 lead. The Frogs responded in the bottom half of the inning, scoring four runs capped off by another Silva homer to take a 5-2 lead.
Tre Richardson and Cole Fontenelle each knocked in a run in the sixth inning to give the Frogs some insurance. Tyler Wulfret launched his second home run in as many days in the seventh, but that was all the scoring that the Cowboys would do for the rest of the ballgame.
The Frogs came out victorious, improving to 19-12 overall and 6-5 in conference.
Cam Brown takes the bump Saturday afternoon, looking to help clinch a series victory for the Frogs. First pitch is at 4 p.m. CT, and you can watch on ESPN+.
