#15 TCU vs. Oklahoma State Preview
TCU is coming off a big bounce-back win at home over West Virginia without star point guard Mike Miles Jr. Miles will not play for another two or three weeks at least as he nurses a hyperextended knee he injured in the first minutes of the game against Mississippi State.
The Frogs did get to see the return of center Eddie Lampkin Jr., who came off the bench and was able to play eight minutes. He was obviously not 100 percent, but it was encouraging to see him back on the court for the first time since injuring his ankle in Lawrence.
TCU will have to rely on their depth Saturday once again for offensive production. JaKobe Coles led the team in scoring with 17 points off the bench on Tuesday, and Damion Baugh and Shahada Wells had 16 points each as well.
The Cowboys come into Saturday winners of four out of their last five contests including a win over No. 12 Iowa State. Their only loss in that stretch came in Austin to No. 10 Texas.
National members of the media have started to take notice of Mike Boynton Jr.’s group.
Their recent run has been important for the Cowboys, who currently sit in seventh place in the Big 12 standings, because they got off to a 1-4 start in conference play.
They are led in scoring by senior forward Kalib Boone, who averages 11.6 points per game. Guards Bryce Thompson and Avery Anderson III slide in right behind Boone with 11.1 points per game. Junior forward Moussa Cisse has been a monster on defense, averaging 2.3 blocks per game and 8.4 rebounds per game.
Last season, these teams split the season series with each home team winning.
TCU will be looking to win their fourth conference game in a row, and second game in a row without star point guard Mike Miles Jr.
Tip-off is at 1:00 p.m. CT and you can watch on ESPN+.
