Big 12 men’s basketball is a gauntlet. Every game can be crazy. Recent results have shown that any team can beat any other team on any given day. Currently, six teams from the league are ranked with a few more receiving votes. That means chances are every game each week has at least one ranked team playing, and many times, both teams will be ranked.

Kansas center Hunter Dickinson reacts after a controversial flagrant foul at the end of the game against TCU. Kansas would win the game 83-81, and, as a result, they are the number two team in our initial Big 12 Men's Basketball Power Rankings :: http://imagn.com/setImages/552200/preview/22236467

The juggernaut that is Big 12 basketball began last Saturday. Texas Tech got a big win in Austin. Kansas escaped with a narrow win over TCU thanks to a controversial call at the end of the game. Houston, one of the best teams in the league, destroyed West Virginia, possibly one of the worst teams in the league. Baylor needed overtime to defeat OSU.

Over the next few weeks, our panel of voters will determine who they think are the best and worst teams in the league.

How Power Rankings Are Determined

Once again, we have brought together a group from across the league to vote each week during the season on the Big 12 Power Rankings.

  • 30+ Total Participants
  • TCU FanNation (KillerFrogs) Editorial Staff
  • Not all are TCU homers – fans of teams in the SEC and Big Ten are part of our editorial staff.
  • One to two fans from each of the other current schools in the Big 12, plus one to two fans from the 2024 incoming “Four Corners” schools.
  • Each week, each participant provides their rankings 1-10. Those rankings are compiled, and the average rank is then listed below.

Here's where our panel of voters ranked the teams this week:

(Team records and AP Top 25 rank are as of 1/8/24; games since then were not considered when voters made their selection)
