Iowa State Forward- #10 Keshon Gilbert

Almost all of the Big 12 has talent, so it is hard to separate teams apart from each other. Iowa State is a very talented team, and like TCU, can hang with almost any team out there. The key to most of their success comes from Tamin Lipsey. However, the guard has been sidelined with an injury.

Keshon Gilbert has done an excellent job filling in for him and helping this team continue to play well. The junior guard is second in scoring and assists only behind Lipsey. Gilbert stands at 6'4'' and 200 lbs. Like Cincinnati, the Frogs should not underestimate Gilbert and this Iowa State team, and if Lipsey makes a return against the Horned Frogs, they could be a dangerous duo. The Frogs will have to play strong defense and make their shots count in order to win this matchup at home.

Gilbert is great at scoring off of the dribble and designing plays. He also can get a decent amount of rebounds for his size. The guard is a solid two-way player who can make plays offensively and defensively. However, he can be a little inconsistent shooter and sometimes makes poor shot selections. TCU must play tight defense on him and ensure he does not get hot, or it can be a problem.

Other Players To Watch For:

  • Sophomore Guard- #3 Tamin Lipsey (if active)
    • Leads team in average average points (14.5), Assists (5.6), and steals (3.4)
  • Senior Forward- #0 Tre King
    • Leads team in average rebounds (5.5)
  • Senior Forward- #12 Robert Jones
    • Leads team in average blocks (.08)
