It's a tall task to face the number one team in the country 24 hours after defeating Oklahoma. While the Horned Frogs may have had their number the first time around, it would not be the same result, as Houston pummeled TCU 60-45. The 45 points were the fewest they've scored all season.

Houston showed why they are the number one defense in the nation. The Horned Frogs didn't record their first points of the game until halfway through the first. A second chance bucket by Micah Peavy made it 16-2. Lucky for TCU, the Cougar offense was struggling themselves, and the lead was cut to single digits with under two minutes to go in the first half.

However, Houston was able to pick things up and kept TCU out of it leading 31-15 at the half. More of the same things continued in the second half as Houston controlled the pace of the game. What is remarkable is the Frogs outrebounded Houston 55-39. They also hauled in 30 offensive rebounds, which is the most they've had since 1998.

Despite all the second and third chances, Houston closed out well and would not allow the Frogs to convert. They held TCU to 17-73 (23%) from the field and 2-20 (10%) from deep.

It was a puzzling performance from TCU, and there are just not many positives you can take away from a game like this. Houston is the number one team in the country for a reason, and that was on full display on Thursday. The Cougars will play Texas Tech in the Big 12 semifinal.

The Horned Frogs will see who they play in the first round of the NCAA tournament on Sunday. It will be the first time in program history that TCU has played in three consecutive tournaments.
