TCU Women's Basketball: Frogs Fall to No. 20 Oklahoma
The struggles continued for the TCU Horned Frogs after suffering a 101-78 loss to Oklahoma Tuesday night. The Horned Frogs are winless in conference play, and their last victory came on December 21st.
Despite the loss, TCU had four players score double digits. Tomi Taiwo led all scorers with 22. She shot 5-11 from beyond the arc. Paige Bradley scored a career-high 14 points. It was a fantastic shooting night for the Horned Frogs as the team shot 13-26 from three and their 43 first-half points was a season high.
Where TCU fell short was on defense. They did record eight steals but allowing 101 points is simply unacceptable. Oklahoma scored 50 points in the paint and knocked down 11 threes. Madi Williams had 26 points to go with six rebounds and four assists for the Sooners.
TCU was able to cut the deficit to eight at halftime. If TCU is going to find a way to pick up their first conference win, stealing momentum is going to be the most important key. Getting on some runs and scoring quickly in transition can swing some momentum in favor of the Frogs.
That chance for their first conference win will have to wait a little longer. Their next opportunity comes this Saturday when they host Oklahoma State this Saturday at 1 p.m
