TCU (6-7, 0-2) took their second consecutive loss Wednesday night in a 81-69 defeat against the Texas Longhorns (11-4, 2-0).

The Horned Frogs had no trouble getting to the free throw line. TCU went 32-42 from the strike which tied the fifth-most free throws in program history. The first quarter ended up hurting the Frogs as they found themselves playing catch-up the rest of the way. They matched the Longhorns' 23 points in the third quarter but weren't able to cut the deficit in the fourth quarter.

DeYona Gaston led the way with 20 points for Texas shooting 10-16 from the field. She also recorded six rebounds and two blocks. As mentioned earlier, five TCU players scored double digits. Knisha Godfrey scored 17 points to lead the Horned Frogs. She shot 6-8 from the strike. Lucy Ibeh scored all 10 of her points from the free throw line.

The Frogs shot 16-45 from the field and 5-14 from downtown. They also recorded 12 steals. The free throw percentage is an encouraging sign. If they can continue to capitalize on second chance points and scoring in transition, things can definitely improve for the Frogs.

TCU will host Texas Tech on Saturday at 5 p.m. as they look for their first Big 12 win.
