TCU Women's Basketball Preview: #7 Texas
The TCU Horned Frogs women's basketball team is trying to halt a three-game losing streak after dropping their midweek game to the Sooners this week. However, that will not be easy as they take on the No. 7 Texas Longhorns.
Sydney Harris has been the team-leading average scorer for the last four games and has also managed double-digit points in those games. Harris has developed into the offensive threat the team desperately needs in the absence of Sedona Prince and Madison Connor.
The Horned Frogs have dominated the offensive side of the game primarily by three-point shooting, as they are only one of two teams to rank in the top ten in every category beyond the arc. Conversely, TCU is the only D-1 program that ranks in the top 15 in the country in defending the three-point shot.
On the other side of the court, the Longhorns are ranked number seven in the country for a reason: they are dominant on the offensive side of the court. Texas will feature a three-headed monster of players that all average over 14 points per game: Madison Booker, Rori Harmon, and Taylor Jones.
The Horned Frogs will need a great game from their 5-out play style that has been implemented the last few weeks, as the Longhorns have a win differential of +30 on the season. TCU has played better in previous weeks with the new roster and has faced an unfortunate part of their schedule that is arguably their most challenging stretch, and this week will be no different.
No. 7 Texas at TCU will take place on Saturday at Schollmaier Arena at 4 p.m
