If you were to take out the 2nd quarter, the Horned Frogs would have taken this game by a score of 57-46. Sadly, basketball is played for four quarters.

After the 1st, TCU WBB seemed to be firing on all cylinders as they went into the 2nd quarter with an 18-7 lead. TCU then went on to let up 25 points while only scoring eight going into the second half, resulting in the Frogs being down six at halftime.

The Frogs found their rhythm again in the second half, matching the Red Raiders' scoring, but couldn't get over their 2nd quarter mistakes, resulting in a loss. The Frogs have now been outscored in the 2nd quarter for the past seven games they've played, five of which they've been outscored by eight or more points.

Aaliyah Roberson and Agnes Emma-Nnopu led the scoring for TCU, with Roberson scoring 15 points and Emma Nnopu scoring 19 points. Sydney Harris reached double digits, scoring 10 for the Frogs as well. On the other side, Texas Tech had four players with double digits; Jordyn Merritt with 16 points, Loghan Johnson with 13 points, Bailey Maupin with 13 points, and Jasmine Shavers with 19 points.

While TCU has found a way to be competitive without Sedona Prince, Madison Conner, and Jaden Owens, there are still questions to be answered about why TCU struggles in the 2nd quarter seemingly every game. TCU continued to play to their strengths from the 3-point line, shooting 13/20, but struggled in the paint, scoring only 18 points.

The Horned Frogs will need to figure something out quickly as TCU has two ranked opponents on the horizon in Texas and West Virginia, as well as an OU team that is 6-1 in conference play.
