Week 10 in the Big 12 was certainly must-see TV. Two games went to overtime. Six of the seven games were one-possession games, with many of those being decided on the final drives.

The excitement began on Thursday night when TCU traveled to Texas Tech. The Red Raiders had a 20-7 lead at the half, but TCU fought back in the 2nd half and even had the lead for about four minutes late in the 3rd quarter. TCU made it a one-score game with 4:54 left and was driving late on a potentially game-tying drive until Josh Hoover threw an interception at the Texas Tech 22-yard line with 1:01 remaining in the game.

Saturday’s games started just as close. The first conference game of the day had Kansas State down by 20 points to Texas late in the 3rd quarter. Thanks to an interception and then a fumble, both deep in Texas territory, K-State scored three touchdowns in just over two minutes. The game was tied 27-27 for most of the quarter. Texas would add a field goal, and KSU would tie it with a field goal with 0:06. In overtime, Texas only managed the field goal, giving the advantage to the Wildcats. With 4th and goal from the 4, the Cats decided to go for the touchdown instead of the field goal. They fell short, and Texas held on for the win.

In Waco, Baylor scored a 1-yard touchdown with 0:01 remaining to send its game against Houston to overtime. The Bears had the ball first in overtime and scored a touchdown. Houston countered with a touchdown of their own, but instead of kicking the extra point to force a second overtime, they converted a 2-point conversion for the win.

The last Bedlam game for the foreseeable future was just that – bedlam. The game between Oklahoma and Oklahoma State was back-and-forth until the Pokes kicked two 4th quarter field goals for a 27-21 advantage. Oklahoma would get a chance to take the lead on a pass to Drake Stoops in the endzone. The pass was ruled incomplete, and no penalty was thrown, though on replay, it sure looked like there was defensive pass interference. Sooners would settle for a field goal and could not do anything with their last possession.

UCF got its first-ever Big 12 win with a 28-26 victory in Cincinnati. In one of the night games, Kansas never trailed against Iowa State, but the Cyclones did pull within three points halfway through the 4th quarter. The Jayhawks would pull away and get a 28-21 win.

The only game not a one-possession game was a blowout game in Morgantown, with West Virginia easily handling BYU 37-7.

West Virginia, with its win, became the 6th team in the conference to become bowl eligible. Cincinnati, with its loss, became the first team in the conference to have a seventh loss, so they will not go bowling this season.
